A 45-year-old man with alcohol use disorder and 10 days of minimal food intake is admitted (BMI 17). IV dextrose and enteral nutrition are started. Two days later he develops weakness, dyspnea, palpitations, mild edema. Labs: phosphate 1.2, K 3.3, Mg 1.5 (all low).
